Ik heb een aantal zelfdodingen meegemaakt in mijn omgeving en dit nummer vind ik daar zo bij passen. Ik moet echt in een bepaalde stemming zijn om dit nummer te kunnen luisteren.

Ik vind zoveel teksten mooi, vaak ook van onbekende nummers.

Och, ik heb zoveel favorieten! Ik vind liedjes eigenlijk alleen maar goed als de tekst me raakt, ik was ooit hele verbaasd toen ik een vriendin hoorde zeggen " oh, ik luister nooit naar de tekst" want tot dat moment had ik er überhaupt niet bij stil gestaan dat mensen op die manier naar muziek kunnen luisteren. Voor mij is de tekst het belangrijkst aan een nummer. En dus heb ik heel veel lievelingslyrics.
Ik zal niet het hele topic volspammen, maar wat ik een erg mooie tekst vind is het nummer Time in a bottle van Jim Croce. Hij heeft het liedje geschreven tijdens de zwangerschap van zijn vrouw voor zijn toen nog ongeboren zoontje. Het wrange is dat hij een jaar later overleed door een vliegtuigcrash, en het nummer juist over sterfelijkheid gaat. Daarom vind ik het mooi. En voor mij persoonlijk geeft het ook mijn gevoel tov mijn eigen zoon weer.

En gezien mijn avatar kan MJ natuurlijk niet achterblijven. Voor mij niet Man in the mirror (al is dat ook een fantastisch nummer - niet door MJ geschreven overigens, het is door Siedah Garrett geschreven). Mijn mooiste twee teksten van Michael Jackson zijn:

Maar de tekst hierboven vind ik op alle fronten fantastisch: de enigszins religieuze woordkeuze door verwijzingen naar the river jordan, maar ook het gebruik van woorden als thee, en zinnen als save me then bathe me. Het gevoel in de tekst van eenzaamheid en wanhoop, maar tegelijkertijd de hoop en overtuiging die eruit spreekt. Nou ja, ik vind echt alles aan deze tekst en aan het nummer mooi.

Ik vind de lyrics van "same love" van macklemore, ryan lewis en mary lambert erg mooi. Dapper ook dat Macklemore en Ryan Lewis het aandurfden, homoseksualiteit is in de rap-wereld over het algemeen niet enorm geaccepteerd.. (Ik zal niet de hele lyrics plaatsen haha.)

Vind van Tool de teksten van de 2 nummers "Wings for Marie" en "10.000 Days" erg mooi.
Beide nummers gaan over de moeder van de zanger, die erg religieus was (Christelijk) en voor zo'n 30 jaar tot haar dood in de rolstoel. 30 x 365 is bij benadering 10.000 dagen. Na 10.000 dagen van lijden hoopt de zanger dat zijn moeder, als engel, nu vleugels heeft gekregen.
In het nummer zie je een beetje de tegenstelling maar ook vertwijfeling van de zanger ten opzichte van zijn moeder's geloof.
