Dat weet ik. En ik ga er ook echt wel van uit dat er een grootschalig onderzoek is geweest.
Ik heb het boek van Amaral niet volledig gelezen. Maar het is wel vanuit zijn perspectief geschreven. Uiteraard staat er ook veel feiten in. Maar er zijn in deze zaak een hele hoop bronnen. En die zijn in mijn ogen allemaal even belangrijk.
Het laatste nog over die zaak van Joanna. De rechtbank ging er wel van uit dat de moeder was gemarteld tijdens het verhoor. Echter omdat niet duidelijk was wie wat heeft gedaan is er geen veroordeling geweest. Amaral is wel veroordeeld voor het vervalsen van documenten omtrent dit verhoor. Verder wordt het denk ik redelijk off topic.

Volgens mij zijn de meeste dingen uit het boek hier wel besproken. Mocht ik tijd hebben zal ik het eens een keer lezen. Hij heeft veel kritiek op de McCanns, ik vraag me af of hij in zijn boek net zoveel kritiek heeft op het politiek onderzoek waarvoor hij verantwoordelijk was. Misschien toch het boek maar eens lezen.

All of the video recordings from the tourist complex - hotels, banks, pharmacies, supermarkets and service stations -, including those from the CCTV cameras of two motorways - one leading to Lagos and one linking Lagos and Spain -, will be viewed. The Spanish customs service has been asked to increase vigilance at the two ports maintaining links with Morocco,Tarifa and Algeciras. The Algarvian coast, very popular with sailing enthusiasts, is bordered by a large number of marinas. Pleasure boats from every province berth here. Situated 120 nautical miles from the African continent, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, it is the most accessible coast for entering the continent of Europe. It attracts many yachtsmen, who appreciate the beauty of its beaches and its inlets, but it also attracts all sorts of traffickers.

We inform him of the actions taken up to then and the next stages being considered. He doesn't seem satisfied. Someone hears him on the telephone saying that the police judiciaire are doing nothing. Now, that's strange! Why that untruth? What objective does he have in mind? Giving another dimension to the case? Perhaps, I don't know a thing about it, but this is not the time for conjecture; we have to concentrate on our work, of finding the little girl.
We're not getting any response from Great Britain. We've had no reports on the subject of the couple, their children and their friends, which doesn't help us to tighten up the investigation. We would like, for example, to know if Madeleine was adopted by the couple, which would allow us to eliminate the hypothesis of parental abduction. If the information is not reaching us, it's obviously reaching the British Ambassador. We are astonished by this prompt mobilisation of the English authorities. So, who are the McCanns? Who are their friends? We don't need diplomatic intervention: what we would like, is answers to the questions sent to the British police authorities by Glen Power.

Ik heb het wel gelezen. Al wat jaren geleden hoor, maar wat mij er van is blijven hangen is dat ik het erg gekleurd vond.
Mijn vertrouwen in de beste man is er in ieder geval niet beter op geworden.
Maar misschien komt dat ook omdat het niet al te best geschreven was.

hij heeft NIET met bewijs geknoeid in die moordzaak. Lees nou eens even die link die je zelf postmadamecannibale schreef: ↑09-06-2020 13:02Dat betwijfel ik. In de 26 jaar dat hij politie agent was heeft hij slechts twee keer eerder een moord onderzocht op een kind. En bij één van die zaken heeft hij met het bewijs lopen knoeien. En de crime scènes bij zowel Joana als Madeleine schijnen een zooitje te zijn geweest. Niet afgesloten en agenten die al rokend in en uit liepen.

Mijn wijzerplaat op mijn schaal "ontvoering <-> ouders" is inmiddels van neutraal, naar de richting van de ouders aan het uitslaan. Maar iets in mij wil dat helemaal niet.
Hoe je dan inmiddels 13 jaar jaar lang samen de schijn op kunt houden en tegelijkertijd zoveel aandacht vraagt voor de zaak is mij wel een raadsel. Keeping up appearances is wel typisch voor Engelsen en helemaal als je een zekere narcistische inslag hebt. Maar dan nog, bizar lang.

Er zijn veel verschillende scenario's mogelijk. Feit is dat deze zaak niet is opgelost, dus NIEMAND (behalve de dader) kent de waarheid.

Ik ben geen psycholoog maar ze kunnen niet terug. Ze hebben miljoenen gekregen van die glaskoning, van JK Rowling en zo nog veel anderen. Bovendien worden ze ook geleefd door het monster mede door henzelf is gecreëerd maar dat nu met ze op de loop gaat.
Je kunt je afvragen - buiten het moreel juiste - of direct gewoon bekennen op de langere termijn niet beter was geweest dan dit circus.

Als ik een rechter zou zijn die moet oordelen over deze zaak, gaat iedere beschuldigde vrijuit. Gewoon onvoldoende bewijs.
Ga eerst maar eens met de modernste technieken opnieuw alle DNA-sporen onderzoeken.

Ik lees nu dat ze die Duitser ook in verband willen brengen met de verdwijning van de 7-jarige Jair in Nederland.
Is het logisch dat die Duitse pedofiel verdacht wordt van misbruik en moord van zowel peutermeisje als jongen als tienermeisje (in Duitsland)?
Ik dacht eigenlijk dat ze toch vaak een type hadden. Nu lijkt alsof hij alle cold cases op zijn geweten zou hebben.

Als ze schuldig zijn, echt áls, kunnen ze inderdaad niet meer terug. Ze zitten in een fuik en zijn er steeds verder in gezwommen. Hun enige uitweg zagen ze om zo hard mogelijk door te zwemmen. Diezelfde avond alle pers in Engeland in te lichten, maak het leed dat ze is overkomen dan ook maar zo groot mogelijk om de waarheid te verdoezelen. Gebeurde het per ongeluk, als gevolg van gebruik van een slaapmiddel oid, dan was het beter om direct te bekennen. Hangt een beetje van het slaapmiddel af, of dat kinderparacetamol was of betablokkers van een volwassene. Als ze dat laatste hebben toegepast dan riskeren ze hun baan én de tweeling. Was het alleen een onschuldig kindermiddel zoals het veelbesproken Calpol, dan zouden de consequenties ook heel mild zijn geweest.
