Twitter seems to have quite a habit these days of killing people off — whether it be Adam Sandler, Justin Bieber, or Eddie Murphy (who they have seemingly killed off more times than we can count at this point).
With this in mind, there’s a new rumor to put to rest — Patrick Dempsey. Despite his name being trending on Twitter Thursday, the actor is alive and well. This speculation started courtesy of a hacked account that suggested that the “Grey’s Anatomy” star had passed away in a shocking accident.
Just know this — if there was really some news about a shocking accident, you would be hearing about it from an actual news source rather than an unverified Twitter account using exclamation points in the wrong places.
As for when you can see Dr. McDreamy on TV again, new episodes of “Grey’s” will be back on ABC April 5. Let’s just hope that Twitter doesn’t kill off anyone else before then.
