Kelsey Grammer's Girlfriend Has a Miscarriage.
It was devastating news the couple had not been ready to reveal for weeks.
But on Saturday, Kelsey Grammer and girlfriend Kayte Walsh said she had a miscarriage.
"We lost our unborn child about six weeks ago," they tell PEOPLE in a statement.
"We would like to thank all of those who expressed kindness and concern but we needed a little time to heal, time to find some solace before we publicly acknowledged our loss."
The actor, 55, and Walsh, 29, had revealed in August that she was expecting.
It was to have been the first child for the couple and the fifth for Grammer.

The happy couple, who are expecting their third child this month, posed for photographs at the premiere of Hereafter at the New York Film Festival.
Matt and Luciana are already parents to daughters Isabella, 4, and Gia, 2.
Luciana also has an 11-year-old daughter Alexia from a previous relationship.

The happy couple welcomed their second child, a boy named Sonny Patrick on Friday, October 1, according to Britain's The Sun.
The former Oasis star and MacDonald are already parents to 3-year old son Donovan.
Noel also has a 10-year-old daughter Anais with ex-wife Meg Matthews.
