Hoogverraad, machtsmisbruik, misbruik van overheidsgeld, belastingontduiking, verkrachting van meerderjarigen en minderjarigen, opruiing, bedreiging, intimidatie, etc. Genoeg om hem voor te vervolgen en heel lang op te sluiten.
En als hij doorslaat op de manier die nu steeds minder onwaarschijnlijk lijkt, door het inzetten van het leger tegen zijn eigen bevolking, dan hoop ik maar dat er genoeg mensen zinnig genoeg zijn om de inwerkingstelling van het 25e amendement te steunen.

Op Politico is te lezen in een opiniestuk, dat de Insurrection Act, waar het hier om gaat, al eerder in extreemrechtse kringen als oplossing is gesuggereerd. Dit komt niet uit de lucht vallen.

The Insurrection Act has been rarely invoked since the civil unrest of the 1960s — the last time was to quell violence during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. And when it has been used over that period, it was always at the request of a state governor.
But over the past several years, it has gained popularity among the far-right fringes, mainly as a way for Trump to solve all their problems, from expelling undocumented migrants, to arresting generals and other “deep state” actors for allegedly plotting coups against Trump.
The idea has also become intertwined with the QAnon movement, the far-reaching and baseless conspiracy that Trump is secretly working to disrupt a cabal of pedophiliac, sex trafficking Democrats and global elite.
In May, a Q-drop — the name for the mysterious missives allegedly from a person at the center of the QAnon movement — floated the Insurrection Act for the first time as a way to solve “growing unrest” after George Floyd was killed by Minnesota police. “Call the ball,” Q said mysteriously.
Then, in June, GOP Sen. Tom Cotton brought the idea of the Insurrection Act into the national dialogue with a New York Times op-ed that called on Trump to invoke the law in response to rioting that was occurring amid largely peaceful protests over racial justice. Trump himself leaned into the idea, suggesting to a rally audience that he would use the act to put down “leftist thugs” protesting that summer.
From there, the Insurrection Act became a quick fix to everything among the more extreme MAGA figures.

Gurulé, the former DOJ prosecutor, pointed out that even if Trump tried to invoke the Insurrection Act, there really is nothing for the military to suppress.
“I guess it’d be a voting fraud conspiracy, but how is the military going to suppress that?” he said. “By what, seizing all the ballots? By seizing all the voting machines? By then, what are they going to do, conduct the votes? It just doesn't make sense.”
The point, however, might just be to have the Insurrection Act as a talking point to keep the MAGA movement motivated. And Levin, the extremism researcher, feared a darker path if Trump — a man who already speaks in militaristic terms on a regular basis — continued to goad his base into thinking a Biden presidency is an insurrection.
“What is the heart of the Second Amendment, pro-militia, anti-government patriot movement? It's the insurrectionist theory of the Second Amendment,” he said. “It says people can rise up against a tyrannical government. To me, this looks like the last exit on the Jersey Turnpike before we get to that spot.”

Haha, Trump pruilt op Twitter dat een rechter in het hooggerechtshof tegen hem (lees: zijn fraude onzin) heeft gestemd, terwijl hij hem juist endorsed had. Dat hij zich niet eens bewust is van hoe fout die voor-wat-hoort-wat houding is als het gaat om rechtspraak, mijn God.

Hij graaft zich steeds dieper in zijn loopgraaf, samen met dubieuze figuren als Powell, Bannon en Flynn. Wat is hun plan? De chaos scheppen waar extreemrechts op hoopt als excuus om de wapens te grijpen? Iedereen die nu nog kwijlend naar de VS kijkt om wat daar gebeurt verdient een dwangbuis.

Als de general assemblee het eens is met de bevindingen dan is het advies de certificering in te trekken.
Arizona heeft een subpoena uitgevoerd om de voting machines te onderzoeken. Dat wordt met alle macht tegengewerkt. Toch raar als je niets te verbergen hebt.

Team Trump is aan het zoeken naar deze stemmen. Daarnaast zijn er zo'n 220.000 stemmen geweest zonder een geschreven aanvraag
Als deze allemaal teruggaan naar de legislature en ze worden gedecertificeerd dan haalt geen van beide 270 kiesmannen en gaat het terug naar het huis van afgevaardigden.
Zou dat niet een mooie plotwending zijn.

Ik heb het idee dat deze gevaarlijke lui vaart beginnen te verliezen, alsof duidelijk aan het worden is dat ze niet genoeg aanhang hebben om werkelijk een coup te plegen.

Dat idee heb ik ook, het lijkt wel een beetje klaar te zijn. Er kan nog wat gereld worden rond 6 januari maar meer kunnen ze niet doen, de uitslag blijft wat het is. Martial law inzetten zou (misschien?) De kat in het nauw kan nog altijd rare springen maken, maar zijn huidige gedrag, waarin hij boos is op iedereen, maar vooral op mensen die altijd loyaal aan hem zijn geweest, lijkt op dat van een dictator in zijn nadagen. Er zijn plannen om op 20 januari een alternatieve inauguratie te houden waarin hij dan president wordt van zijn parallele univerum. En dan tegen het steunpakket zijn, de mensen krijgen volgens Trump te weinig geld. Tja, als hij dat nu eerder bedacht had, de democraten willen namelijk best meer steun geven.
