Good morning girls,

Kym, you're leaving really soon, how exciting!

I went to the park yesterday and it started raining as well, more drizzling like they say here in the UK.

I've never heard about the expression with the apples, I do like it but I don't think it's British.

Hope you will all have a lovely sunny day!

Thanks Robo, for clearing that up!

Clear explanation Robi, about them apples

I woke up pretty early this morning and my head is still hurting. Today will be a busy day: I have to go to the local government offices for my passport. And a lot of other documents. So a boring job for today.

Well, see you later!

Hmz..I realy thought my explanation came pretty close. At least that's how we used it. Anyway.. I stand corrected (again...)

Kym: Piece of advise: Don't listen to me

Did you get all your paperword done today?

Robo thanks for the explaination! Howcome you speak English so well?
if they like you you'll know, if they don't you'll be confused

I would love to practise my English. I can speak, read and understand it very well, but writing is totaly difrent for me. But I'm also bad in writing in Dutch. I want to improve in English writing because I'm getting my masters decree at the end of this year and I think it will be good for me if I improve my English when I'm gonna search for a job.

Hi girls!

Well, I only asked for a new passport at the local government office. It'll be ready in a few days. And then I have to arrange my visa and stuff, but I think I'll ask the organisation where I'm going to work for to do it for me. I think it isn't that easy and they ask for it all the time ofcourse, so problaby thats safer

Besides it I have to get a lot of vaccinations as well, so..pff...really a lot to do in my opinion.

Iris, I think Robo told us she's a English translator and has a foreign man (french). But now I'm not so sure anymore actually.

Ehm, advice dus.

Advise = verb

Advice = noun

Deja vu?

vaccinations, brrr. I would do it, but I would be really scared of it. How do you feel about neadles (how do write that stupid word)?

Hi Varuca, well, I don't love needles, but I have to get them. Besides I stick them in other persons as well, so I know how it works
Alle reacties Link kopieren
If you stick them in other persons than you can't complain about it, lol.

It is needles, I knew it was one of the two. I always know how to pronounce thinks, but how to wright them is really hard for me. But I'm not dyslactic, I'm just bad in writing and writing rules.

I'm gonna loove your accent, Kym.

And hell, psychiatry in Africa, that will be some experience. Ready for 'african medicine'? And a huge culture clash?
Alle reacties Link kopieren
My accent? You already know it's uhm...strange? I think I don't get you.

And yes, I guess I'm ready for Africa. The crazyness and the big experience.

Talking about them apples: this youtube video brings a whole new meaning to the expression!

The african accent is pretty peculiar. In some countries they even have their own version of english. I love the sound of that.
Alle reacties Link kopieren
Oh! That's what you mean. Yes, I heard about it: people say because of the accent sometimes the African there are hardly to understand! I'm curious!

You might wanna find out whether there's an african club in your vicinity. In Rotterdam there used to be a club at the Nieuwe binnenweg or roundabout, I'm afraid I have forgotten the name, maybe they know something about it at Cafe Easy. They played african music on Saturday nights.

Sure one way of getting accustomed to pushy African males and certainly the way to practice English.

Hm, great idea, but no, thank you Mamzelle

I really haven't got the time to socialize or get in touch with all kind of strange people.

I have to work this whole month and in the meantime I have to arrange a lot (believe me: really a lot).

I will see enough African the whole next year....:)
Alle reacties Link kopieren
Be sure of that.

I'm off to bed. Good night..

Anyway 'club' is a big word for just a night out dancing.

Bye Mamzelle, sleep well!
Good morning everyone!

Is there still room for me here? I don't need to improve my english that much, but I guess it's fun to participate in an english topic here.

Kym, you're going to South-Africa? When do you leave?
